Land Kit

Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, and Architecture are critical fields of design today that can address both environmental and social issues at massive scale. With Land Kit, we’ve created algorithmic design tools to bring the process of designing the built environment into the future.

Our custom-built software, called Land Kit, is a computational design framework for building workflows that allow more efficient, fluid, and unprecedented efficiencies.

Land Kit core features are available as a free plugin and a Pro Key will unlock powerful pro components.

Development

This project is our most ambitious development project by far. Several libraries of code and over 100 different components come together in multiple templates and workflows in Rhino and Grasshopper.

A Palette of Creative Possibilities

Planting Tool Palette

The planting tool palette is created to make planting design easier and more site-specific. By defining environments, areas, plants, and layout rules, they will help with designing and visualizing your planting.

Topo Tool Palette

By easily creating and modifying topographic features in the landscape that help to define topography, you can avoid the sticky problem of relying on elevated contours and one-way workflows to create and revise models.

Paving Tool Palette

Land Kit’s paving tool palette helps make paving design easier. By defining areas, patterns, and color rules, these components will help with drafting and modeling your paving for CAD and even rendering.

Workflows

Don’t know Grasshopper? You are not alone. This amzing visual coding environment is not for everyone, but we have you covered. If you don’t want to learn this new languge, you can use our pre-built workflows that give you the powerful features without less overhead.

More all the time

In addition to workflows, we’ve added a palette of water tools that help you see water flow across your site and calculate stormwater run-off volumes. We are also building tools to expand the possibilities. Stay tuned!

Teaching

To bring these complex tools to a larger landscape design audience, we realize that there is a lot of teaching that we need to do. From individual tutorials to larger corporate workshops or webinar series, we help show the way.

Our first workshop from early 2022.
